Art Historian and Web Designer Photoshoot
Personal Branding Photoshoot
THE CURIOUS ART HISTORIAN
Introduction
Raise your hand if you’re also multi-passionate!
Multi-passionate people have multiple passions (a term very easily deciphered, yes). They have acquired a wide variety of skills and see how they can be transferred from one arena to another. They are naturally curious and love learning.
As someone whose favorite subjects were math and ELA, I always felt a little all over the place. Most of my friends were either “humanities all the way” and loved social studies and ELA and held an actual hatred against math, or they “craved rules” and “things being very clear” (excuse me, but chemistry was not very clear to me lol) and loved math and science. And then I had my friends who just excelled at every subject and they were the geniuses I chose to surround myself with. 🙃 So while I couldn’t bring myself to love every subject, I noticed that I loved certain skills… like analysis. I loved the analysis needed to decipher text and the analysis needed to tackle a new math problem.
So when Janelle reached out to me about brand photography and I heard more about her story, I immediately knew that I wanted to help her tell her story.
Our Process
She is both a web designer and an art historian, merging her two interests to craft websites for artists and art-based businesses. She studied and worked in the art world, taught herself how to code (um, how cool!), and is now creating websites. She also launched a podcast!
I think the collection of her photos tell her story really beautifully.
Photoshoot Aesthetic: approachable, professional, open-mindedness
Photoshoot Location: Central Park, Albertine, The Met, Ralph’s Coffee, New York Public Library
Photography Results
Janelle was able to use her branding photos on her website and help her ideal clients connect with her further, using the images to subtly express interests and play off the photos’ environments.
Kind Words
“Adeline, deserves all five stars and then some. She was professional, did a beautiful job of guiding me through her process, and made the shoot so much fun I didn't even realize the four hours had passed until I looked at my watch! I've never seen myself as very natural in front of a camera (I tend to force my smile) but Adeline did a brilliant job of making me at ease which brought out my personality in every photo, and managed to incorporate my work brand into it all. If you're looking for a sign to hire Adeline this is it!”
