EMILY BURNETT DESIGN
Introduction
When Emily and I met mid-pandemic, she shared with me, “Somewhere along the way, I learned about the field of instructional design, and realized that the elements that I most loved in each of my prior and then-current roles were a form of instructional design. I decided it was time to pursue it with more passion and focus than before and to really lean into my love of design.”
Our Process
For Emily’s personal branding photoshoot, we shot in a warm and cozy studio. Here, we had multiple backdrops to use and, paired with multiple outfits, we were able to create a multitude of images that were different yet cohesive.
As props, she brought ones that helped showcase her personality like records, books that changed her life, and office supplies that held sentimental value. We also made sure to get some shots of the organization she uses when she does the planning involved with learning design. To make sure it was visual for the viewer, she brought tangible items — like her planner and colorful sticky notes and pens.
After we completed the indoor portion in the studio, we caught the evening golden hour in Williamsburg and went by the water to Domino Park. The sunset photos that we captured there are some of my favorite photos to date!

Kind Words
“My experience working with Adeline for my first ever branding photography session was every bit wonderful. From our first coffee chat to get to know one another, to our mood boarding and strategy session, Adeline used every step of the way to better understand me and my vision for the images we would create together. And she delivered FOR SURE! I recommend Adeline 100% for her creativity, professionalism, empathy, and talent.”
