LUSH DESIGNS
Introduction
When Patricia was completing my brand photography questionnaire for her new business, Lush Designs, one of her answers, in particular, really resonated with me.
It was one of those things that someone says that keeps replaying in your mind days, weeks, even months later.
When I asked her what set her apart from her competition, she answered:
"My mission is to provide thriving. To me, this isn't just about beauty or fun, or pleasant feelings. I'm addressing a social issue. We live in a world that only ascribes thriving to very few of us and my ideal client is someone who is assumed to be scratching and surviving. I want to help my client normalize lush, thriving luxury – all of that. Most florists/floral designers are aiming to provide beauty and good feelings and even inspire... I want my clients to know they are bountiful and the feelings of abundance they get from one of my pieces could be in all parts of their life!"
So well said.
As someone who also works in a creative field, I sometimes struggle with the necessity of my work. And then I come across a thought like this, and I remember that my work – and the work of other creatives – is here to "provide thriving" to those "assumed to be scratching and surviving."
We're thriving, not only surviving, right?
Our Process
For this photoshoot, Patricia and I wanted to take portraits with her work as the props, while keeping her as the main focus.

Kind Words
“I worked with Adeline to take photos for my very new business - this was an exercise in getting sharper on what my I want my baby to project onto the world. Adeline's process (there's a chat with her about your brand/mission and a branding questionnaire to complete before shooting) helped so much. And then, the photos!! Gorgeous and perfect for what I'm trying to accomplish!! Adeline's approach is thoughtful and considerate and warm. I think that this energy comes through in her photographs. Really loved working with her and would work with her again!”
